Lazy Helicopter Parents

Comments

My brothers and I would go out trick or treating for several hours, with only a "be careful!" from our parents. We would go to neighbourhoods quite a ways fron our own, and it wasn't a very well lit area either. The concept of "stranger danger" didn't exist back then.
I remember my parents warning me about not eating candy not in its original packaging until they'd checked it and the razor blades in apples urban legend was alive and well back in the sixties. too.
No wonder the majority of Americans are fat if they are too lazy to get off their arses.
Yeah, but we've got all the food. :P
If I had kids, I would not let them trick or treat to any house I didn't know. I would probably throw a Halloween costume party for them. Too many weirdos out there now. Its a shame, most of the kids today won't know the simple joys many of us had growing up.
I think it's the same amount of weirdos out there. (well, percentage wise I guess) There were lots of wack people 50 years ago, too.
I blame the media for so many people having scary thinking.
